Tampa is located in the middle of Florida's West Coast. The Tampa Bay area consists of four different counties, making it the second largest metropolitain area in the state. Once the completion of Henry B. Plant's railroad line was finished, the city quickly became populated and was used as a major port. In the late 1800's Vicente Martinez Ybor moved his cigar manufactoring business to Tampa and build hundreds of houses for his factory workers, the majority being of Cuban and Spanish decent. Other cigar factories quickly moved in and the Ybor area became a major cigar production center. Today the city has gained popularity with tourists as a result of its extensive list of family attractions. The thrilling theme park Bucsh Gardens: Africa is located in the city and brings in thousands of visitors every year. Located downtown next a frequently used port for cruise lines is the Florida Aquarium where visitors can dive in their shark tank. The city's cultural history offers hundreds of museum spanning from contemporary art to a children's interactive science museum. The Tampa area is also ideally located in close proximity to the gulf beaches. The annual average temperature is typically in the mid 70’s.
