Bradenton is a city located in Manatee County, between Sarasota and Tampa on the west coast of Florida. The city is the home of two nationally known businesses; Tropicana Products Inc. and Champs Sports. During the Spring months, Bradenton is the temporary location of the Pittsburg Pirates. Bradenton’s popular tourist destination is Bradenton Beach, located on Anna Maria Island which is separated from the mainland by the inter-coastal waterway. Long Boat Key is an island just south of Bradenton Beach and is a popular location with shell hunters. These barrier islands are known for their warm clear blue water and powder fine sand beaches. The Manatee River runs through the downtown Bradenton area, offering locals a choice between fresh or salt water fishing. Bradenton’s climate is comfortable with summer temperatures ranging from the 80’s to the 90’s, and winter temperatures in the mid to low 70’s.
