Mary’s advice in the article is homebuyers who are moving should be careful to structure employment agreements so that they do not interfere with buying a new home.
Specifically, be aware that some lenders will require proof that all the contingencies of an employment offer be met, prior to approving you for a mortgage. Therefore, it is helpful to meet with a mortgage loan originator licensed in the state you’re relocating to and develop a plan to fulfill those requirements, before accepting an offer for a job that will require you to move.
